Reconciliation’s Reach Documentary Advisory Board
Dr. Frank Chalk is a Professor of History and the Director of the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Dr. Donna Hicks is an Associate at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University. She has been involved as a third party in numerous unofficial diplomatic conflict resolution efforts including projects in the Middle East, Sri Lanka, Colombia, Cuba, and Northern Ireland. She is the author of the forthcoming book, The Dignity Model; A New Approach to Healing and Reconciling Relationships in Conflict.
Carl Hobert founded and directs Axis of Hope Center For International Conflict Prevention at Boston University offering students and educators worldwide creatively-designed international conflict analysis, management and prevention seminars and workshops.
Rabbi Stephanie Kolin leads social justice efforts at Temple Israel in Boston, Massachusetts . She leads community organizing on numerous causes and was instrumental in efforts to create universal health care in Massachusetts.
Robert Koenig is an Emmy Award nominated producer, writer and documentary filmmaker and President of Adventure Production Pictures based in Atlanta, Georgia. He also serves as field producer for Reconciliation’s Reach.
David Loomis is the website manager and designer for peacedocumentary.org. He is a graphic designer and founder of DmL Corporation. He lives in Tennessee.
Dick Olsen has several decades of experience as a strategic planner and fundraising consultant. He lives in Southern California
Marli Porth is the Administrative Director of the Dean’s Office at the Harvard Kennedy School. She is an experienced fundraiser and community organizer living in Boston, Massachusetts.
Filmmaking Team
Adam Mazo is the Executive producer and director for Reconciliation’s Reach. He has spent time in Rwanda researching and shooting around the country beginning the investigation into the conflict resolution practiced by REACH. The work included short-form documentary pieces on issues in Rwanda as well as Uganda including: the war in northern Uganda, education of displaced children, and stories about the work of REACH. For the last decade he has worked as a journalist in the television news business. He has traveled through more than 20 countries throughout North America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He was also trained at the University of Florida where he earned a B.S. in television production. He lives in Boston.
Scott Ippolito is the Director of Photography. An award winning documentary cinematographer, his most recent work is on “RETURNED: Child Soldiers of Nepal’s Maoist Army”. He performed the same duties on Reconciliation’s Reach.
Ippolito has an extensive background in photography, cinematography and videography; he has worked on several feature films and documentaries in Asia and North America. Ippolito is a graduate of Emory University where he pursued his love of photography and writing. Ippolito’s freelance commercial work has won him several ADDY awards over the last decade and his short film “Moved” won Best Film at the 2004 International 48 Hour Film Festival.
Suzanne Summerlin is the U.S. producer of Reconciliation’s Reach. She has worked in journalism for more than 9 years. Suzanne earned her B.S. in television news at The University of Florida.
Mark Jonathan Harris advises the filmmaker. He has made three Academy-award winning documentaries. He won his most recent Oscar for directing and writing the feature documentary, Into the Arms of Strangers: Stories of the Kindertransport (2000). His recent work in Africa includes Darfur Now, which he produced with Don Cheadle and Cathy Shulman. He has supervised dozen of student-produced documentaries that have aired on PBS. In addition, Harris is currently the head of the Advanced Documentary Production course at USC.
Adam Payne is the musical director and a singer/songwriter/producer. As a performing arist, he has received numerous acclaim up and down the east coast for his unique blend of musical endeavors. He has collaborated with numerous artists in the music industry from California to Western Africa. He currently works at Bentley College where he teaches in the Management Department and works in the Multicultural Center where he is responsible for large-scale retention initiatives for the students of color on the Bentley campus. He earned his M.A. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from UNC-Charlotte, and his B.A. in Psychology and Statistics from the University of Central Florida. Adam lives in the Boston area.
Alicia Carlson is a freelance photographer for Reconciliation’s Reach. She’s an assistant organizer for the Boston Photography Center, coordinating public relations and marketing efforts. Alicia earned her B.S. in broadcast journalism from Emerson College and works as an associate director for WHDH-TV.
